From Sea to Summit big in China
Our new project team member, Kajo Podrug, who recently joined the project as a PhD researcher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy in Split, has achieved outstanding international recognition.
Kajo participated in the 2025 IRCK International Training Course on “Karst and Resources: Fragile Environment and Sustainable Development”, held in Guilin and Chongqing, China, and organized by the International Research Centre on Karst under the auspices of UNESCO. After completing the full two-week scientific and field programme, he received the Excellent Trainee Award – 2nd place, selected through a competitive evaluation among more than 30 international participants.
His presentation “Water Resources Management on a Small Karst Island of Vis, Croatia” showcased key activities and research directions of the From Sea to Summit project, significantly enhancing the project’s international visibility and strengthening cooperation with UNESCO IRCK and global karst research institutions.
We congratulate him on this exceptional achievement and warmly welcome him as a new member of our project team
