First sampling of snow cover
A group of three scientists from Neuchâtel took to the field in early February to investigate the snow cover over the karren-field of Tsanfleuron in deep winter conditions.

We dug out a first snow pit on the Tsanfleuron area, at an altitude of 2480 m. This allowed us to characterise a nearly two-metre long temperature, density and stable isotope profile. © Tanguy Racine
